No. 11b and 12 - Dr Wilcock, organist.
Dr Alfred Wilcock (1887–1953), organist of the cathedral 1933–1952.
Commentary by Eric Dare: Dr Wilcock ('Baldy'). He was always well dressed. Fond of whiskey - as was 'Guv'. A frequenter of the Royal Clarence; but with hindsight, he was rather lazy, with no ambition for the choir, though he had no assistance in the war years. When the organ was out of use we had a grand piano in the nave that he played beautifully.
Photographs 11b and 12 are identical, though 11b (shown right) is rather sepia-toned, compared to the black-and-white version 12.
