It is not obvious what the context of this scene is. The style of costumes, especially the ladies' cloche hats, suggests 1922-1933, the period when such hats were fashionable. The gentleman wearing the top hat could be Langhorne.
Commentary by Eric Dare: I assume that Langhorne is the main person at what seems to be a wedding. Could it be his own to Winifred? The dresses look too early for Edward's wedding [Langhorne's son]. Certainly not Eleanor's [one of Langhorne's daughters].
It is unlikely to be Langhorne's wedding, a possibility suggested by Eric, as Langhorne married in 1906 and the costumes shown here are not of that period.
