Looking west from the north tower of the cathedral. The arcaded old market can be seen on the left (sadly later demolished rather than restored). Bomb-damaged buildings in South Street and Fore Street have been cleared. The spire of St Mary Major is dominant beyond the west end of the cathedral (church demolished in 1969). The fields of Exwick look very different now, with many being occupied by housing.
