Between 1952 and 1957
Factotum Kenneth Smailes in the Chantry Garden
The one and only KENNETH SMAILES - a Jack-of-all-trades if there ever was one! He was apparently an orphan taken on and helped by the Treneers. He continued to live and work in the Treneer household after their retirement. A fine (if slightly scary) fast bowler when he joined in the summer playground game of Tip-and-bunk (Hit-and-run cricket) during breaks in the Chantry.
